Just done the foundation exam in the link above - passed just with 36 out of the 75. Took me 15 minutes.
I've never done any Prince2 training or really read up very much on Prince2. I am an experienced project/programme manager so was interested to see how well I could do by winging it.
Prince2 has a language of it's own but once you've dialled into that then it doesn't look that hard at foundation level.
I reckon with a weekends reading I could be raising my pass mark to 80% plus.

This, if you have any PM experience, then its just about understanding the Prince2 language. I got foundation with 3 days training and NO PM experience. Foundation is simply a case of memorising terminology.
If you book it at the last minute you can find a classroom training course that includes the book and the exams for the same as the cost of the book and exams. I paid £600 for a 5 day course, and that included lunch. Self teach looks to be a complete waste of time.

Unlikely, almost all contract work will ask for experience, and there are plenty of contractors with that experience. I have 15 years worth + Prince2 + ISEB + ITIL + I'm a competent oracle developer, and I still have to fight hard for contracts.My nephew is looking into it.

Because (being a bit cynical) a decent course will teach you what you require to pass the exam quickly and easily.Foundation really isn't that hard, get it out of the way quickly, spend the time on Practicioner.
