Interviewing companies website full of errors
Discussion
I'm off for another interview today and am just buffing up on the company.
On their website is a huge amount of major spelling mistakes, poor grammar and has a major lack of punctuation.
Is this likely to get me brownie points in the interview, or would this get me a boot out of the door!?

Not sure I'd want to work for them to be honest, that would give me serious reservations about their seriousness and prospects.
Depends on the company surely? Some will have a site because they have to and only really use it so people and google their phone number.
Not a good thing to be full, just saying that the perfect site is not the be all and end all in many sectors. If they are an IT co though i would be concerned!

Yeah it does and the severity of the mistakes but I wouldn't want to work somewhere that had their work littered with basic spelling mistakes, just shows a lack of care and possibly (probably) intelligence. On the website I have to say that I sort of agree with you about the spelling but, as you will have noted from many of my posts over the years, there are people who just can't spell for one reason or another not always linked to intelligence. I would not suggest that I'm a genius (far from it), but I'm also certainly not a knuckle dragger. I am not bothered about spelling on this place as it winds up the Spelling Police and I'm not about to install the software on a works machine. Most posts are written in Word and then pasted after the spell checker there has done its thing but some, like this one, are hand crafted direct to the site and could be full of errors. And as if to prove my point, edit to add missing "not"

I completely agree with this, I put "possibly (probably)" because I know plenty of people far more intelligent than me who can't spell all too well. An ex-girlfriend who was fiercely intelligent was quite severely dyslexic. I don't think a clever person who can't spell would have a website full of spelling errors, though. And as if to prove my point, edit to add missing "not"

I'm not the best at spelling but when I'm on my PC, I have downloaded a spell check thing to help.
On my phone however, I haven't found one yet, so the odd error happens.
But if I was trying to advertise my business, send important emails etc, I'll always double and triple check.
But anyway, I got the job and start in 2 weeks
