Sacked

You might of seen my post on the supercars spotted thread that I lost my job basically these are the facts,

I am 19 and have been working at the place for around 9 months, on a casual contract

This is the third time they have gotten rid of me, first time was for not working hard enough which was hard as there was barely anything to do, the second time I was told I was no longer need which is stupid as by then I was doing a lot of other peoples work so that they could have a breather as they had less work to do and finally on Thursday, I was approached by my Line Managers, Manager asking me why I blanked my Line Manager but I told him what happened, that I didnt know she was talking to me as there was a few people in the room and she never called me by my name, so how would I know then somehow I got onto saying how if I dont go and do my work she will lie to get me into trouble, everything I said about my Line Manager I was either told I had made up or they changed the subject.

The bking was over, I worked for the last hour thinking everything was alright, walking home and was phoned and told not to come in tomorrow (Friday) and not to come in Monday while they are deciding about my position. We all know I will be told not to come back as my Line Manager gets away with everything and never once been punished at all

Is this fair or even legal to do

Not sure what kind of contract you have where they can keep "sacking" you and then getting you back. Either way it sounds like you'd be better off out of there.

I have never signed anything but always been told I have no rights due to a casual contract

I am not going back, just want to know what I can do about what has happened as I feel like its quite unfair and not right at all

Don't know about the "fair" aspect.

AIUI your company can get rid of you for any reason it likes during the first two year's of employment or no reason at all. However you may be able to claim for discrimination if you have been dismissed for reasons relating to age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief, sex or sexual orientation.

Having said all that, after they had dismissed you twice, why did you go back the third time?

Fair enough but given that they've sacked you three times, surely there must be better options out there?

This is the problem, I have no skills at anything, and have no idea what I want for a career so at least this was a job that gave me the money I needed to pay for those things

Please define "casual" contract.

Do you mean temporary? Or casual as in your contract says that you will work as and when they require you to?

If it's the latter, you have nothing. Find a new job.

I'd sign up with all of the local agencies - that way something else will come along shortly I'm sure.

If you feel you have no skills/experience and no idea of what to do, agency work can actually be quite useful in that you can end up trying out a variety of low skilled jobs in lots of different workplaces. Once you've seen inside a few firm, this may give you some feel for what you might want to do for study and/or a permie job.

Just my GSCE's

One of the only things I enjoy is taking photos of the cars in London

Not of yet, I really dont know what I want to do

Why not take it up as a career?

Get yourself signed up for night school, and get some qualifications.

As I dont believe I can be any good, if you follow the Supercars Spotted thread, I post 5 photos a day, and they are mostly st, yeah I could improve but I dont believe I be any good at it.
