Your biggest pay jump when you moved jobs?

Do have a mate who jumped from 34k to 45k in Birmingham.

Whats your expectation on a pay increase if you wanted to move jobs?

14k to 28k.
Now just over 30k and steadily rising. Not a lot but enough
Lot more hours and a lot more responsibility.
Loving it though, most of the time.

Well if my interview goes well in Brussels next Weds ill go from £44k to £104k! I may need to buy a bullet proof vest but such is life!

Out of interest, how on earth did you manage to get an admin position offshore? They seem to be positions that are few and far between, and something I would be interested in!

Could be cheating, as my last role was a temp position while I found a "real" job, but I just went from £120ish ( £6.20 an hour, circa 20 hours) a week, too something significantly more than that*.. Had to totally uproot my life on short notice to do it, but still, exciting times.

I am contracting. So likely to take a drop next year then in a few years should manage quite a bit more. 200k should be do-able in UK in <5 years, easier in Far East.

The actual picture looks like

40-50k (2007-2008) site bonus
27k (2009-2011) office
48k (2012. Office
>100k (2013. Contracting
70k ish (2014)

50ish basic + benefits, to 100ish as a contractor. In total its probably 30%. its variable of course, and its totaly normal to be a month between jobs, and if you're out of work around christmas you can write December off on top of that.

30k to 60k last year. Although did move from the UK to Aus but doing pretty much the same job for the same company.

Not like for like, but when I finished my year of English teaching and got a "proper job" I nearly tripled my salary (from a starting point of around £600 a month...)

A more normal increase is around 20% for changing like to like jobs, in my experience.
