Hello all.
Just a request for a bit of advice.
My mother has asked me for help on how to word a letter explaining missing a day over the Christmas period.

She was due in (just herself in the workplace) on a Saturday after Christmas.
Unfortunately she was mixed up on her dates and came in on the Monday instead.

During this period her supervisor was unavailable for help. (was on a course)
Leaving other members of staff to take her time sheets. (apparently before she had a chance to write any dates in her diary to organise herself)

It's all a bit of a clumsy mess. and she isn't sure on what to do.

Any advice would be welcome.

ETA. absence bloody phone!

I'd do this. Might come back to bite her if she made something up.

Yep, humble pie, apologise, explain her fault..... If not a regular event and no other issues then at worst verbal warning IMO.

Sounds like the best thing to do.
I've asked her to write the reason why (she refused to begin with as she was afraid of the consequences)
I understand as admitting she forgot can be quite embarrassing..
Hopefully it will work out alright.

Thanks for the replies smile
