Are the alternatives to staying preferable?

If they are, leave, if they aren't, stay. The problem for anyone offering suggestions or advice is that you haven't delved into the alternatives, so they have no data on which to base their comments.

Firstly; you probably already know the answer to your quandary.

Secondly; 'My past two job roles were 2 years in length and I am concerned about painting a pattern of "2 years and out"' This is not unusual for those who aspire to higher office.

Good luck!

Thanks for the answers both - actually the comment about the 2 years being somewhat typical of someone with some further career aspirations is quite comforting.

I apologise for not having framed my question more effectively - I was hoping to hear some anecdotes of what would or wouldn't work. My break-even analysis on lost future benefits of jumping ship vs. staying suggests there is very little in it should I achieve a 5k payrise by moving, so I think I will get the feelers out and try and decide whether I want to be in operational management or pure sales.
