Looking for Project Management Opportunities (any sector)

Hello all.
I am looking for a career in Project Management in any sector and hope that someone on here can help.
I am a graduate with BSc in Telecommunications electronics. I spent fifteen years working at Nokia UK in both the Network and Handset departments. My last role was Customer Technical Acceptance manager which involved customer support at a technical level, travel and mobile testing.
Unfortunately, I lost my job last December and was desperate for a replacement job to pay my mortgage. I took a job in the defense sector for less money, and have regretted it for the last six months. Work here is so slow, there is no trust, we are treated like children and no one has any get up and go or love for the product.
I have Prince2 accreditation and I am a decent project manager. I have a can-do attitude and really want a job that I can be proud of. I have a passion to get things done and do not like sitting still. I have applied to several dozen companies via Linkedin, Monster and direct application. However, I get no response or a negative response.
I am sure that project management skills are transferable from industry to industry, so can anyone help me find a more fulfilling position? I guess my ideal industries would be somthing like Motor; Telecommunications; IT; Public; Building/Construction.
Can anyone help me to find a project/product management job that will make me smile again?

Have you considered energy / oil & gas? I'm the senior Project Engineer for a large subsea tieback project with one of the big international EPC companies. I'd be happy to review / comment on CV if you'd like? Prince2 is not very common in oil & gas, and it can be a little odd in that the industry generally expects management to be at least conversant in the technical aspects of our work as well as the projecty aspects, although I do know of a few exceptions who have proven the rule - and they're not even especially remarkable people so I'd give it a punt if I were you.
