Trainee Land Surveyor

Evening everyone.
I'm very interested in a position as a trainee land surveyor that has been advertised locally.
I have had a good read of the company website, and i'm very keen on the role.
Before I finish the application and send it off, I was hoping somebody here could give me more information about what such a role might entail, and what they might be looking for on my application?
I'm planning to write that I'm a practical person with a technical and inquisitive mind. I'm not afraid of hard work/long hours. Looking for a career to dedicate myself to etc that I will be an asset to their company in the years to come etc.
But is there anything specific to the role that I could read up on and apply it to my application in any way?
Hope i'm making sense.
Even if im not, if you've had any experience in such a role I would love to hear about it.
This is a career that i've not really considered before, but i think it looks really interesting and is something I could really see myself doing.
I know that many of you on here are extremely bright and helpful people with a lot to give, even as strangers. So I thank you for any help or advice in advance.

I was a land surveyor for a while. Still an part time.
It will be worth reading up on how to use a level. Maybe see if you can find out what instruments they use. Like Leica or Trimble. Have a look on York survey supplies website to familiarise yourself with various equipment.
Also maybe looking at what software they use. Most common is Aplications in CADs n4ce or land survey software (LSS). Have a look at some surveying company websites to have a nose through past projects. Try Severn partnerships and SCCS, maybe worth looking at city surveys. I'll have a think for a few more.
Mention you have an eye for details as well. Maybe worth trying to get hold of there code list (codes surveyors assign to various objects)
