Are you going to be an employee or are you being taken on as a self-employed consultant?

Has the American business even considered the implication of your tax status?

Have you?

How are you intending to bill your "employer" and how do you intend to declare this income and the related tax and NI to HMRC here in the UK?

Are there any VAT implications involved in the activity you will be carrying out?

I they already have a UK based presence and UK employees, then that would be a fairly straightforward way to go.
