Offered a job. Not heard back since.
Discussion
I received a phone call 10 days ago to say I'd been successful and gotten the job. Not the actual job I'd applied for, but one further up the chain as a manager/supervisor, hey-ho.
Only thing is I haven't heard back since, even when I called last week for an idea of the timeline, they didn't get back to me.
Is this normal? Have I messed up somehow?
It's not like they are a small company, they employ over 20,000 people across 4 continents in industrial services.
Thanks in advice.

Called today, HR took my number and said they would ring back (again), no return call (again).
I fear the worst.
Oh well.
HR, big company... it'll probably take time.I fear the worst.
Oh well.
If its anything like the company I used to work for, the HR people will of kept being promoted and so your call will be lost as the person you spoke to has moved on. Then the next HR guy you rang will of also moved on and dropped your note in the bin... off to switzerland now, not their problem.
Seriously thats what it was like. As grads, in one year we had 4 HR supervisors... as they kept moving on up and dumping us on someone else. The woman who moved into head of HR for our site was in the job about 6 months before getting promoted again. Like the banks can pay their lot bags of cash because they're the ones in control of all the money, the HR lot climb the greasy pole like spider man because they're in control of the jobs!
