Jobs/Grad Schemes & Opportunities for Science PhD

My GF is going to be finishing her PhD in 'Molecular and Cellular Biology' towards the end of this year, she is hoping to have all her writing done by the end of October.
She/We want to have a job sorted out for her to go straight into once she has finished writing up really - preferably in Bristol and the South West but if it is the right job elsewhere then that is fine.
She doesn't necessarily want to work in science and I think would rather avoid doing lab work - what industry it is isn't really that important.
Does anyone know somewhere that would be a good shout? Be it somewhere that is recruiting or running a grad scheme?
I can mail her C.V. out to anyone that may have some good leads.

Why do a PhD in that subject if she has no inclination to work in the sector? Seems rather odd to me; a first degree I can sort of understand, but not a PhD.
I work in the field of my PhD, and used my network to source jobs and essentially put the word out.
If she didn't want to work in a lab (this part I do relate to- I was the same) I suppose she could look at medical sales? Journal/trade press publishing? Business development manager for a relevant company (GSK, for example- I don't know the smaller/specialised companies).

Just spoke to her again, general gist of it was no sales or recruitment.
Business development/analyst roles or journal writing seemed to spark an interest.
She is also interested in patenting and going down the patent attorney route - shes looked into this in a lot of depth but biotech doesn't seem to be the flavor of the month at the moment.

That surprises me, I would have thought that patent protection in that sector would have been a very viable option.
Don't just look at journals, as most of these don't actually have paid positions (i.e. the editor-in-chief would be a Prof at a specific University- it is about profile). What I was thinking about was sector specific magazines (example- Royal Society of Chemistry do a monthly magazine called 'Chemistry World (I realise how geeky that title is!)). Or even broader, like New Scientist.
Another route could be the research councils, actually working to identify the topics in which to focus funding towards, setting out the action plan and looking after a specific core topic. So, in her sector she could look at BBSRC (Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council) or NERC (Natural Environment Research Council). Or the Technology Strategy Board (TSB). All of these are in Swindon, which might be of interest.
