Job Interview Tomorrow!

Hey everyone finally got a job interview for this..

Advice would be to go in with your eyes open! If you end up earning minimum wage you will be lucky

"Full time self-employed" = No salary, commission only.

Basically they pay no money and have a salesman for free. Not only that, but if you break the law regarding doorstep selling (which their training will no doubt encourage) they can distance themselves from it.

1) Turn up in a suit. Always best to be over dressed rather than under dressed! First impressions can make / break it. Be polite, Mr / Mrs John Smith until otherwise told..

2) When waiting, be alert and look around, remember you're interviewing them at the company as much as they're interviewing you - if it dont feel right to you you'll hate it there! Be extra nice to the Recpetionist - they could feed back about you..

3) Remember your P's & Q's

4) Go to the mens room before you get to the interview place :s

5) Make sure there is way more time on your car parking than you think you'll need. 60 minute interview, put 3 hours on it!

6) Do your reading about the place first - - what does it entail? How long are the hours, who's the Chief of the place - it really comes across when someone had done their homework!!! And it impresses!

7) Most of all - never be late. If the interview is 2pm and 30minutes away, aim to get there for 130pm - yea it sucks you have to wait, but use this time to think and get you're head in interview mode. Nothing worse than being rushed, getting there in a panic and not hacing time to calm down and get in the zone... (I had someone arrive 5 minutes late for an interview with me the other week, when he walked in he was "like, yea so I'm a bit late" rather than "I'm so sorry, the traffic was awful and I was saving a kitten from a tree"... the interview was over in 20minutes and we'll not be calling him back...)

Biggest tip - relax and take it in your stride, if it's to be it's to be - good luck

It's not really a job - and they'll take on anyone who can string a couple of words together.

If you enjoy disturbing people eating their dinner and watching the TV in the evening and enjoy being told to 'fk off' in many different and creative ways, you'll love it.

Sadly, these jobs have always existed. You could be driven around in teams and dumped in a housing estate in the pouring rain (hey, it's summertime in England) for 8 hours until your desire to live has been sapped. I think we've all done similar jobs at some point in our lives.

Hm, this is true. You learn to take "no" and keep soldiering on. You learn about determination and resilience.

In fairness, you can learn about determination and resilience in any tough job, that also rewards you properly

So long as you want a character that is resentful, miserable, cynical and depressed.

I read these posts on my way to the interview. Put me off completely. They said they would get back to me but tbh I told them not to waste there time. With previous retail experience I would say I'm used to people being D***s.

Had a guy come in speaking pretty loud and knocked half the shoes of the rack. I turned around to see what he had done and he asked if I wanted to meet his friend Stanley ( a knife).
