Jobs advertised

Whats the position with jobs being advertised or not.
My other half works at a gym-part of a small national chain of franchise operations.

The last few jobs there are not advertised. They have been given to people with out an interview.

At least 80% of the staff are all related or boy friends/ girl friends partners of one of the managers.

I have advised my other half to keep a dairy as there are more family members who need jobs are they are making it awkard for my other half.
Shift changes odd hours etc being the main things

I can see a constructive dismissal case at some point.
A member of staff was dimissed this week and the next day the neice of the manager had the job.

I was just wondering what the score is

I'm not aware of a legal requirement to advertise all job vacancies and then appoint the best candidate. By not doing this however, there is a chance you will weaken the skills pool within an organisation and set it on a trajectory to failure.
