I was made redundant, worked my notice and finished on the 25th May. I was informed in writing on the 27th April I was entitled to 5/12 of my holiday entitlement and separately I would receive a statutory redundancy payment based on a week's pay for every year of service.

I was normally paid in arrears on the final day of the month so I was due a salary payment for May. A payment has been made to my bank account today which is slightly less than my normal salary payment, which I expected as my termination date was just short of a full month from my last salary payment.

There is no sign of my severance payment though and I still haven't received my P45; is there a time limit on when these should be provided I can quote if they try to stall me?

I would have expected the full payment to be made to you in your May payment, especially as they have pro-ratad the May payment (this shows that they knew your date of leaving when running the payroll).

Your P45 will usually follow by post a few days after your salary goes into the bank.

I would call them and ask about the severence pay. It may be that they will be issuing a cheque outside of payroll as it is not subject to tax, but this is an unusual way of doing it.

They should of given you everything in writing or verbally before you finished. They have 14 days after your last date of work to pay redundancy, as they made you work your notice I suspect they'll make you wait until the 14th day.
