Can i give notice on a bank holiday?

Have been offered a new role to start on 10th April.

Current employer saying that i need to give notice to finish on 5th April- thus losing 2 days pay that month.

Anyone have any ideas what the legalities may be- contract has nothing that even suggest the legal position.......

haven't broached it with new company yet!

Do you not having time owing or holiday owing that you could cut use to cover the extra days you need?

You can't give your notice if there is nobody there to receive it.

Do you mean hand in your notice on a bank holiday, or give notice such that your last day is a bank holiday?

The former might be problematic (no one there), the latter shouldn't be a problem.
