I don't actually start my notice period until 2nd Jan, but sent off the formal email noting my intentions earlier and I must admit it feels like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders.

I just passed 14 years service last Thursday, so haven't handed my notice in many times (twice over my working life).

Going contracting (IT) next year, Ltd company already set up and really looking forward to it.

Not much more to say really just wanted th share biggrin

Cheers.

Good luck!

I can remember handing mine in at PC World and loved the feeling. Hopefully I'll get the same feeling if I get this new job!

Yes, good luck.
I remember that feeling of starting a limited company all those years ago: butterflies, excitement, fear….. Hope it works out for you.

Good luck. Thinking I'll be doing the same in the new year!

Seems to be quite a lot people (including a few on here) that are going into IT contracting recently.

Are the rates/opportunities quite good?

It depends on your skills but generally speaking demand for contractors is low and availability is high so the answer is, no, it's a pretty poor time to go contracting.

But it does depend on how specialised your skills are.

I handed mine in yesterday after the last couple of years in this role to move on to a similar role but with better prospects and certainly is a good feeling!

Good luck to you with your change and hope all goes well!
