Just handed my notice in today - feels great!
Discussion
I don't actually start my notice period until 2nd Jan, but sent off the formal email noting my intentions earlier and I must admit it feels like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders.
I just passed 14 years service last Thursday, so haven't handed my notice in many times (twice over my working life).
Going contracting (IT) next year, Ltd company already set up and really looking forward to it.
Not much more to say really just wanted th share
Cheers.

Seems to be quite a lot people (including a few on here) that are going into IT contracting recently.
Are the rates/opportunities quite good?
It depends on your skills but generally speaking demand for contractors is low and availability is high so the answer is, no, it's a pretty poor time to go contracting. Are the rates/opportunities quite good?
But it does depend on how specialised your skills are.
