New contract. Help please.

Just been offered a new job, well 6 month contract. Have been contract in the past but not for a while so was wondering what would be the best thing to do.

1) Limited company
2) umbrella company

Also with regards to IR35 how does one know if I am inside or outside of it. They can offer an IR35 exempt contract but not to sure how this would stand in court.

If you intend to do more contract work after this 6 month stint then a limited company would probably be a good idea. Have an accountant set this up for you as they should also be able to advise on IR35 situation based on information you can give them.

If you are not sure about further contract work perhaps an umbrella approach would suit for now. I used "Contractor Umbrella" a while back when I was contracting and they looked after me very well.
