So I've been looking at the job market for the last few months since we got the news of restructuring. Its not definite yet but theres nothing like a bit of prep eh, although I dont seem to be getting very far.
Theres not an awful lot out there for someone in my profession. SAP . I'm not currently at consultant level, which is where most of the positions seem to be and even less in the west country where i'm based. I was thinking about moving to London but the majority of support analyst jobs in London dont pay enough to cover the rent in a dodgy, less than acceptable den. I've looked at the Aberdeen and offshore oil industry as i've got a potential base up there already.
I've have emails coming in from just about every recruitment agency and employment website going. Without trying to be too negative about this lot, does anybody find that the best jobs are found through networking rather than these agencys?
If anybody knows of SAP roles going I'd be most grateful of a heads up I primarily support logistics, SCM, primarily MM/WM/PP in Manfuacturing and Wholesale businesses.

Without wishing to sound too harsh, beggars can't be choosers.I'd love a job close to home, but I commute from the Midlands into London daily - 2 hours door-to-door, each way. If you want the money, you either move or travel.

If I could find the same job locally, I wouldn't do it. I'd rather work than not, so have lived with the commute.
