New Airfield Venue

Fancy a track day in East Anglia for just £89?

Pesky liability insurance has curtailed activities at a number of airfield venues this year limiting the options available to drivers.

In light of that, it's good to see a new venue being offered by Prova Motorsport. Sculthorpe airfield in East Anglia features a 1.4 mile circuit which we're told is made up a plenty of sweeping bends and tight technical sections rather than a few straights linked together.

Although Prova are unknown to most of us, they are members of the Association of Track Day Organisers so you can take comfort in the fact that their events will be run in line with ATDO safety requirements.

The price is attractive too. Normal prices are £99 per car and driver and £10 per extra driver or passenger. PHers can book for just £89.

40 places are available on their day on Monday 31st May (bank holiday). It will be an open pit lane day running from 10am to 4:30pm.

but just too far

Why are track day prices so varied ?
Supply and demand !
That's why I charge so "little".

What tracks are there in the Midlands & Northwest ?

Can you tell us more about the venue and what the circuit is like? Other than "flat" that is.

Not really I'm afraid, I've never actually been into the base itself, mainly due to the fact the guards are armed with machine guns!
I know some people who have driven round it (they know the guards ) so I'll see what I can find out.

only some of the best in the UK! You might not have Brands GP or Goodwood but pretty much all the good tracks are well north of London town.

Examples-

Midlands- Donington
North- Oulton Pk

Plus shed loads of others like Cadwell, Croft, Mallory, Sliverstone, Rockingham etc etc.

Circuits-

Watch the tyre wear folks !!

about 10 years ago I competed at Sculthorpe on a single venue stage rally,in a group N Suzuki Swift
( o.k. we all have to start somewhere!)
first stage of about 4 or 5 miles saw the front pair of brand new Michelin slicks down to canvass and wire!!

Brillinant venue with wide open spaces, and some more trickey bits, but take a few spares !!
