Ford Track Experience

Ford team up with Prodrive to provide unique experience day

Ford and Prodrive have just teamed up to offer ‘Drive Unlimited’ their own track day experience.

The Ford Focus RS is one of three high performance Fords to sample, with the Focus ST and Mondeo ST also featuring in separate circuit-based challenges.

Each Drive Unlimited experience day takes place at Prodrive’s 250-acre private track near Kenilworth, Warwickshire, a demanding, varied test-track facility more often associated with state-of-the-art road and motorsport vehicle development and rarely open to the public.

Experienced professional circuit instructors will give participants an insight into high-speed car control, skid control and even rally driving techniques, learning skills beyond basic roadcraft with maximum enjoyment. A low guest-to-instructor ratio will ensure participants learn the most from their varied driving experiences.

The four separate action areas are:

  • Ford Focus RS tarmac rally challenge – learning the special techniques that professional rally drivers use on World Rally Championship tarmac stages
  • Ford Focus ST skidpan challenge –learning to control a car in a variety of extreme situations, including driving on ice and aquaplaning.
  • Ford Mondeo ST high-speed circuit driving – teaching high-speed car control in a safe environment, including braking and cornering techniques.
  • Ford Ranger off-road challenge – learning to tackle steep slopes, mud-filled gorges and window-high water in Ford’s 4 x 4.
A Drive Unlimited voucher costs £195 per person and bookings are now being taken, by phone on 0207 512 2525 or via the dedicated website: www.driveunlimited.com .

D'oh, that's the trouble with only having FWD platforms, I guess. Where's the fun?
