I am booked in with this one, taking my Porsche 968 (white coupe) for a spin after a belts and cam chain job. Have ordered some thicker arb's to control the body roll but they have not arrived yet, hope they get here in time for me to fit them.
Have heard that a group of about 20 TVR's are appearing, who else is coming and in what cars?
Finally, has anyone got some feedback on using TOYO Proxes TS1's on a track day, for a high performance tyre they do seem quite cheap. My Porsche is relatively heavy at around 1350kg when compared to TVR's which use them as standard -- is this a factor. NB I do have a spare set of rims so was thinking of these tyres as my dedicated type for trackdays.

Ok probably going to sound like an idiot now but aren't they T1-S? If so, I had them on my cerbera just before I sold it. I did the 'ring on them and they were a massive improvement (IMHO) over the SO2s I had previously. I would compare them favourably with contisports etc at almost half the price. But what do I know?
Which circuit do you think we are using? I have done the new corner at the west end once but not when using the full GT circuit (ie around the outside of all the tracks). As the circuits used each time do change it does add variety if you like to go to this venue.
Hope the weather is dry, although wet tracks are fun in their own way I do want to explore the dry handling of my car some more.
Fuel is a £1/litre at the circuit so fill up before arrival!
bacon butties at 8:00am then, see you then
any other Porsche owners going?

(white Porsche 968)
Mk1 GT3 Clubsport!!!!! cant believe it yet myself.
Hopefully should pick it up on friday.
Look forward to meeting you
So, Who was there???
What a fantastic day. Warm weather with as much track time as you could handle. The TR7 was finished 11pm Friday and with a 6am start Andy and I made the briefing.
A few small prblems developed during the course of the day - boiling the brak fluid, the throttle jamming wide open, having forgotten to charge the battery - all added to the day.
and I bought the picture, will scan and post later.

great day. track very dirty with used rubber at the start, weather fabulously sunny with no wind.
lots of porkers, Elise's, Caterhams and TVR's present (in a group from TMS Melton Mowbray) plus 2 JP1's screaming around, 2 Ariel thingies, some ferrari's. only one nutter IMO, a certain person in an M3 CSL !
i really like those Porsche GT3 RS's -- one day!
managed to get one of my trackday tyres scrubbed down to the canvas on one edge -- so had to put my road wheels back on the front of the car.
my car is one of the slower ones on the circuit but what I lack in outright speed I made up for in mileage, actually did 270 miles if I include the few sighting laps first thing -- anyone beat that?

Well it was a disaster for me, I didn't even make it to the track.
Travelled up the night before & stayed in the Hotel in Milton Earnest that several PH'ers recommended in another thread recently.
Got there tired, hungry & thirsty so straight into the restaurant. As soon as I'd finished my starter & 1st pint I felt a few stomach cramps. Left most of my main course & 2nd pint as the queesyness increased.
Back to the room to endure a night of sickness, diarrheoa, cramps & shivering/fever - full blown food poisoning !
Just about managed the drive home in the morning. No way I could've managed a day on track, I just about had the energy to fuel the car up.
To say that I'm pi55ed off is an understatement The hotel cost me 125 quid for the privilege of a night in agony & then another 200 lost on the missed track day. The fact that it was the best day of the year so far & I spent it laid up in bed just rubs salt in.

Is this what I think it is?
