Hi all, long time lurker first time poster

I've managed to scrape together the money to buy a track day car (probably a Mk2 Golf GTI) but when trying to get insurance quotes, all I can find are 12 month policies which I can't afford. Ideally I only need cover for a very short period of time. Is there any way I can get cheap cover just for driving to and from the track?

Cheers

have you tried the firm called "competition car insurance" or similar, sure they could help.
Is it a very expensive car though? .. cos most people don't run with track day insurance anyway ..

Egger Lawson don't normally cover driving TO and FROM the track on their CCI policies. Search this forum for trackday friendly companies if you want one policy to doy it all (v rare these days) or just get normal road car insurance on a limited mileage through most brokers, eg Adrian Flux.

£400 for a full year unlimited mileage on a modified mk1 golf with no NCB. Includes track cover.

Liverpool Victoria as usual, if you're planning to do a few track days, I can't see that individual insurance per day will be any cheaper?
