Go and do a day with Andy Walsh at 1st Lotus (www.1stLotus.co.uk). The training is excellent, the price very reasonable (£120) and you will have a blast doing it!

Good call.

...and then when you get on track make sure it's with people like Easytrack or Bookatrack, and get tuition.

Have fun

I cannot promote any particular track day organiser however I can say just get yourself booked on a full day somewhere with a session of instruction booked for mid morning.

Simply go out do a few steady laps to dial yourself into the surroundings. Come in and then go out with your instructor. Doing an airfield is only of benefit if you already know you have no self control before you start or your getting a bit confident but perhaps ability doesn't match up just yet.
