Just asking.

I don't mean a racers lap, just a good time on a trackday.

I always compare to see what the Kumho BMW boys do - make me realise how slow I am when I'm some 6 seconds a lap slower on slicks than they are on road tyres!

Wasn't sure how I was going in my e36 M3 3.0 till saw these results. Must try harder as like you I am 6 seconds back on the fastest times with a 61 second lap. Time taken from in car video and not on track day itself.

I'd say under 1 minute is fast - depends on the car of course, but that'll do for starters smile

Taken from my pals video in his grif, our better laps were 57.

I didn't say at the start of the thread for fear of total embarasement rolleyes.

Swapped in the pm, (last Thursday) to my pals Exige sprint, what a car, never driven one before, it's like cheating, I felt I was a little quicker in that, mainly because you could push it more and feel safe, (compared to a tiv!).

under 1 min is good in my opinion.

1st answer was a bit tongue in cheek as not supposed to time on a trackday - sorry about that ;-)

easy way to check is to watch some utube vids - sure there must be plenty of them.

Going there on Sat for my first ever track day, so getting a time is the aim (ie not crashing! wink )!

Been reading the Circuit Guide and trying to learn how to go round the Paddock Hill Bend and Druids. Should be great, I'm looking forward to it.

My E36 M3 has done it in 51.5 (slicks) The Chimera is powerful and nicely balanced, so witha decent set of tyres it should see 57 - 58 I would think.

No, was last year in 2nd Britcar 50 minute race with new set tyres (full tanks).

Modest state of tune.

370bhp

H pattern

1175Kg

Bit of Aero, big brakes, motorsport ABS, rosejointed, Dunlop touring car slicks (17").

Goes nicely.

Timed off video and just looking for times to the second, my mate managed under 58 in the 400se with R888s (and only 220bhp), I only managed barely below 60 frown , so a good, well driven Chimera should beat that.
