Hi all,

My old Uni (Imperial College) motor club rents out Goodwood each year for students and 'friends' to have a good thrash.

There are limited spaces, but some are still available, and so I am opening this up to you guys.

It will be session-based, and cost £125 per car (unlimited drivers).

Please note the Goodwood noise regs of 98 Db... :-(

Info and organiser contacts are below:

Cheers,

Joe.

Dear all,

The Imperial College Motor Club’s annual track day is being held on Friday 30th January 2004. Following a very enjoyable and successful event last year, the event will again be held at the famous Goodwood Park circuit, which is home to the Annual Revival meeting every autumn. I apologise for the delayed running of the event this year. This was caused by problems with our Student Union, which have now been fully resolved.

It is the ability to hold events such as these that make our club one of the biggest and best University Motor Clubs in Europe. We are not aiming to make a profit from this event and I am sure you will agree that the price is very reasonable when compared to most track day events. The cost of this event will be £55 for student members, £90 for associate members and £125 for non-members. This represents a significant saving compared to any other organised track day. Payment must be made in advance. Drivers may, if they wish, share a car at no extra cost. Places will be allocated on a first come, first serve basis.

Here are the details of the event:

· All cars are welcome (no motorcycles) as long as they are roadworthy. However, they are not required to have a valid MOT certificate.

· A maximum of 10 vehicles will be allowed on the circuit at any one time.

· Goodwood Circuit has very strict noise regulations. All cars must pass a static noise test. Your car’s noise level must not exceed 98 dBs at ¾ maximum revs. This will be measured 0.5 metres from the end of the exhaust pipe. The microphone of the noise meter will be at an angle of 45° with the exhaust axis. All cars must also pass a drive-by test. Noise levels must not exceed 96 dBs 10 metres away from the trackside. I regret that we cannot refund any entrants who fail the test on the day.

· Crash helmets must be worn whilst on the circuit. Although Goodwood cannot provide crash helmets, if there is sufficient interest the City & Guilds Motor Club can provide a limited number.

Plus, they are undersubscribed and will not have more than 40 cars (at the moment they are price-negotiating with the circuit to bring less cars!!!) so you will get a fair amount of track time !!!
