Would anyone be interested in a 'PistonHeads' track day? If I teamed up with one of the track day companies would the residents of the Gassing Station fancy a get-together on track? Just an idle thought at the moment...

But as you know Ted, there's a difference between people saying they'll come along, and them actually coming up with the cash

Ted be warned....... just come off of a combine trackday at Wroughton Race-speed and Easytrack spoke to a few of the Organisers, all said that when more than one company tries to run an event, well it never works straight away. Love the Idea but maybe just front the event for someone else who's a regular many of he Guys an Gals on the Day had very Hi expectations and people can be disapointted both easily and quickly...

I was there too, not competing just having a look to see what they would be like. I thought they had limited it to 40 places but there seemed a lot more than 40 allowed out. There seemed the usual teething problems - the "on the day" track insurer didn't turn up and the "noise testing" was conspicuous but it's absence although I did get my Cerbie weighed (bloody hell - 1233kg but almost exactly equal body weight over all four wheels!!!! ) I think that with the above small problems sorted out another track day organiser can only be good. But Dave if your going to organise a track KEEP THOSE BLOODY ELISE'S AWAY..... Edited by fourwheeldrift on Sunday 4th February 12:56

How a bout a tester by combining with The tasmin challenge trackday at Mallory on 15th feb?. I know there are quite a few spare spaces, Steve is sweating a little at the mo.... He would love to have you all come along? Then you can see if enough peeps come along to make it worth while running a bigger one... G

Fully aware of complications of running a track day as I've done a few with a couple of friends. I'll talk to some of the track day companies and see if they'd be interested in a collaborative arrangement. I'd like to help Steve out, but it's a bit too short term.

Wroughton was the launch event for Race Speed, who are trying to add a bunch of "value-adds" to the sort of bare bones events that Easytrack offer. I think Race Speed need our support and encouragement because while they had teething problems with the launch, the things they're looking to accomplish make track days a whole lot more desirable and well rounded. As it happens, on the day, Easytrack themselves had their own problems in relatively equal measure. My vote would be to give these guys a chance to take stock and learn from the experience...

A note on the track day at Worughton with Easy track / race speed. I was there instructing for then and had a blast all the cars were well turned out and the driving standard unusually high - those that stopped moaning and got on with enjoying what was on offer seemed to have a great time. Rest assured that they are working on it and the next one will be Brilliant.
