Pistonheads Beginners Trackday
Discussion
I did my first trackday at Folembray this year, and from what I've been told, book-a-track run all their trackdays in a similar way
I was on track with some seriously fast kit SR3s, bike engined caterhams 996 etc and it didn't really matter
I can see how you'd want to go on "one for beginners" and I was wondering what it was going to like with such a mix of machinery, but seriously just do it, make sure it's a day/evening with decent cars, because decent cars are more likely to be driven by decent people who don't want their cars fd
I doubt vey much if you'll be any way intimidated

I want to get on a PH day to be honest. A few people on here know me and I know how most of you drive (sensibly - for a trackday atleast). The beginners day was what it was called a few months back - IIRC it involved a couple of days at anglesey. Again, this would be perfect for me because I could share the car with my dad over the two days.
Of course it would be nice to get some tuition as well, infact im sure my dad would too, one of the best ways of learning a circuit safely IMHO. I really just want to get on track with people I know, so I can say: "i'll be in car X so watch out for me/ try to tolerate my insanely low speed cornering" etc etc
I guess the advantage with PH days is that everyone feels more approachable and friendly. By all means it doesnt have to be a beginners day as such, infact it would probably be better as a normal day with tuition available.
I just want an opportunity to get on track without travelling to france and back!! That said, Folembray is on my to-do list...

Seriously though, I would love a PH day, but any bookatrack day will be well organised and friendly, with plenty of beginners in the "novices" group. I'd love an excuse to go to Anglesey though!
