Track near Hants

Where is the nearest track to Fleet in Hants that does track days in your own car?

Your options include Castle Combe in Wiltshire, Silverstone in Northants and Brands Hatch in Kent. All within one and half hours drive of Fleet. I live in Basingstoke so these are the three that get my attention.

Very occasionally Gold Track do Thruxton (nr Andover) - but I'm not a member and haven't. The Thruxton Race School itself used to do a number of days a year where you could take your own car out...although I believe track time was limited and you always have an instructor in the car - not a bad thing by any means - I get instruction regularly even at tracks I "know"...

As I recall the only way to find out about these "own car" days at the school was to e-mail them and ask - they don't advertise them particularly and may no longer do them at all...

I've used them a few times now and like the friendly and disciplined atmosphere. You don't want to take your own car out on track if the people with you on it are to55ers - and Bookatrack seem to have a decent clientele and a stern attitude towards those that don't measure up on a driving standards front...

You've got Thruxton, Castle Combe, Goodwood or Brands Hatch all within 90 minutes drive.

Thruxton does not have many track days, Castle Combe do some of their own track days along with most of the decent track day companies, Goodwood is popular and quick, and Brands is excellent.
