Anyone at the Goldtrack day at Silverstone? Had an interesting time there, especially with the conditions which were very greasy at times. Lots of spins and red flags, but really enjoyed it nevertheless.

I was there with Sean Edwards in my new (to me, had it a couple of weeks) 964RS cup car. Learned a lot, did spin twice but kept it going and was able to drive away both times. First time in about a dozen trackdays that I've experienced such a slippery track.

We were there in the grey Exige. The track was pretty green in the morning - I had a moment at Copse but caught it. I thought there was quite a lot of grip later in the afternoon.

I was there in the Silver 964RS, spoke to you (ian) briefly near the end of the day.

Rather slippy in the early sessions but loads of grip from late morning onwards.

Top day all round.

Yeah Ian, you did well. Great new car as well!

The black Viper looked cool out on track, I raced against them last year and never thought they looked so good in the livery, but in black it looked sweet.

Yes, Silverstone is very slippy when damp or wet, you need to be on wet lines around there, otherwise it is like being on ice!

Thanks to Goldtrack for a fun day.

Have to agree the black Viper looked the dogs.

Ian, very nice 964 you have there.

Sean, thanks for the notes and showing me the wet lines last time out.

Grip was a lot better than my last day at Silverstone:

Have to agree the track was a bit greasy in the morning but dried out for a spanking good afternoon. Had a spin in the morning, driving trying to hard in slippery conditions loser but all was OK. Some great cars to take in and a well organised event.

Was the evening session dry?

I was supposed to be there but put new pads on in the pm and noticed the wishbone ball joint was very worn so had to cry off

Hi Charles, good to meet you too. The "moments" always seem to happen when I've got a passenger! I'll look forward to seeing the 40 on track at some point.

Had a fantastic day.
Drove 65 MAT's car in the morning very slippy out there, lovely car and very nice to meet you.
Then had a blast in the Yellow Murcielago. Much better than I imagined it would be, did not feel heavy or awkward. Brakes on the early cars are crap but I knew that before hand. Insurance excess very very worrying.
After that was a 360 spider insurance excess just very worrying. First one i've ever driven. Good fun very buzzy, handled well brakes were strange. Sometimes you'd get excellent feel other times the pedal would harden disconcertaingly. I have a feeling it was when the abs was being tripped maybe.
Lastly the daddy. Mr AO's 993GT2 clubsport. What an awesome weapon. I can't think of many cars on road tyres that can live with this. Vic looked very comfortable in the passenger seat as well wink
