Enjoyed a brief stint on an airfield track last week in a 355 with an instructor. Really enjoyed it and made me realise how little I know about real car control. Also made me realise I could really get into track driving given the right situation. I've noticed that there seems to be some good feedback on Palmersport days so will research this option, but welcome more suggestions. My criteria would be as follows :

Plenty of actual track time
A good instructor (I'd like some instruction to start with before venturing out on my own track days)
If possible, use of their car, or I would consider track day car hire - Have looked at some options, looks expensive and I would want to make sure I'm getting a good vehicle to commit the money.
Smallish ,if not 1 to 1 instructor, a low ratio.
I do have the option of using my Impreza RB5, but I think I prefer to use a vehicle other than my own to start with. Only just bought it !

So any thoughts from people that have done similar days / course etc... ?

palmersport days are immense fun and even though they look pricey i think are good value overall.

if i were to count up properly i think a trackday in my CSL probably costs about the same as a JP day but you get loads of instruction at JP, a mix a
of top cars to drive, loads of laps even though not as many as in your own car.
