Hi all, looking for some quick advice. I've got a BMW E36 325i track car and really need to sort out the springs as it is far too soft for my liking. I essentially want to go as stiff as possible without breaking the bank but I'm no expert on BMWs. I've seen many different types of spring out there with various claims for what they'll do but I know that there's no substitute for the experience of other owners. The car is for track use only so I've no interest in ride comfort, just handling. Any advice greatly received.

Cheers.

Springs are not overly expensive so I would recommend using the best - I have Eibach springs and anti roll bars on my track E36 and am well pleased with them yes

There a national budget race series for these cars. All the settings you will ever need for any UK track should be available from one or more of the competitors/suppliers.

Hopefully some second hand parts too, to keep your costs down.

A mate and I are currently prepping a E36 325 and have looked into this in some detail. I don't know what your budget is but we settled on KW 2 way race suspension. This was about £1500 so not cheap, but we figured going for a "fast road" setup was a false economy for a pure track day car. The KW set up is really a "budget" option in terms of race suspension - I think a lot the race car guys favour Nitron or Intrax.

The best forum for sorting track BMW's is http://www.bmwtrackdays.com but the site is down at the moment. Don't know if you've been on their forum before but there's some very knowledgable people on there, some of whome race in the Kumho Championship.

Hi all, thanks for this advice, very useful. On the back of this I've booked a meeting at my local BMW independent specialist to chat about the different options. I'll let you know the outcome. Thanks again.

Speak to Will at Geoff Steel Racing, they have just built a PH'ers E36 that won the Britcar Title.
