Anyone else going to this? Organised by Goodwood Motor Circuit with only 15 car for the whole day.

It's my first ever track day so intend to spend the morning listening/learning the track

Taking the TVR.

I went a few weeks back for a noise level test - came out at 104db (limit for the day is 105). And that was at 4200rpm rather than 4500rpm (75% redline). Now have a pair of ACT silencers to bolt on if they complain.

The 996, I'm afraid the race cars would fail the noise limit.

It should be a cracking day, the first open pit lane event at Goodwood I can remember. I think the only other way of getting uninterrupted lapping at the circuit is to buy a Bizzarrini and enter the Tourist Trophy !

Goodwood was my first track day and i loved it. the staff down there are really good, very helpful. i really do recomend that one of them takes you out in your car to show your around the track. For one thing its very good seeing just how capable your car is for ue on the track-i know i was mightly impressed!

I’m glad you mentioned that, I was thinking of getting a Goodwood track day in before the Summer ends and when I say £445 I almost fell of my sodding chair!
I’m sure Goodwood track day prices are usually a bit higher than others, but am I right in thinking his lordship has massively liked the price for this season? surely that is taking the piss, probably wouldn’t cost that much more for a weekend at the Nordscheif?

Just wondering... how's that open pit lane? 15 cars at 105dB is 5 cars out at once so it's the same as our 98dB days where we take 30 cars and have 10 out at once.

Lot's of track time but I wouldn't dare call it open pit lane.

Very tempted to book a 105dB day but not sure I could muster enough cars at that price.

Thought it was pretty good value. Get an instructor for the first part to teach the ropes. Helmet hire included.

Not to mention free refreshments.

laugh I don't think I've ever paid over £200 for a track day anywhere, including Goodwood - did the Goldtrack day there a few weeks ago (which admittedly should've been £250ish) and got more than enough track time being able to go out every other session if I wanted to.

I guess the problem is noise and getting a TVR under 98Db is pretty difficult especially with sleeved exhausts etc. so you're forced to do the 105 days.

Hope the weather holds for you cool - your first track day in a TVR at a wet Goodwood is hardly ideal yikes
