I'll have to look at the videos at home, but whats Goodwood like?

I just read the reviews on here and its all "fast, scary".

I got into work this morning cursing the 40mph brigade as they made me do some major overtakes, stress levels built up so I impulse booked myself a trackday. I've done Castle Combe half a dozen times with bookatrack but there were none available on a weekend so I booked a place at Goodwood with Easy track (never been or seen the track before). Then read "suits fast cars, fast circuit etc" bit worried my car may be sat on the rev limiter all the time, is it really that fast? I almost hit the red line in 5th at castle combe?

cheers

If you're tracking the MX at Goodwood then I think the majority of the time the throttle pedal will be wedged to the floor. I found the circuit to be quick and flowing for the most part with only a few major braking areas. Speeds are high everywhere and there's very little run off in most places. It concentrates the mind though and you'll still have fun there. Watch out for lift off oversteer going into turn 1 though. This was the most difficult part for me since on standard suspension turning gently and braking hard really made the car want to spin.

Think I better get an oil cooler in before then if thats the case, so its quite alot faster than Castle Combe?

Just had a look at the 2nd session video,.. quite hard to make anything out really but it appears to be slower and tighter than Combe.

like you all say a very fast and potential scary track!
This was my first track dat and what a day I had. totaly recomend it to any one. the staff are very very good, very helpful. I would recomend letting one of the staff take you round first to get to knwo the track and lay out. it was very good watching him take my CTR round the track. would do it all again. But to back up what others have said-watch out for the first corner and always be aware of how litle run off there is!!

At Combe you come round the corner onto the start finish line (slightly hairy) then you are flat through Folly and Avon Rise before braking for Quarry. In my car that translates to around 120mph tops. More like 130 before braking for the corners leading to the chicane at Goodwood. That and after Goodwood's first corner you will be flat through Fordwater...You'll spend more time at faster speeds at Goodwood with sod all runoff. Scary - but its an exciting track.

Thruxton is your track for constant very high speed, mind.
