Hi just wondering what other people would classify as their top 3 trackday circuits in the UK and why?

Donington National, Oulton Park and Cadwell. Interesting technical circuits that flow and have a mix of corners.

I don't like bedford GT, it's corner, brake, corner brake etc. No real flowing complexes and kills the brakes. And the GP circuit of Donington only adds dead brakes to the fun.

Not got a top 3 ... but top 1 is Donington. Reason = Craner Curves!

1, Cadwell, don't need to say a lot, this is the reason why..... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=km0pMnaJrPAbiggrin

2, Oulton full - great circuit with some nice ballsy fast corners and lots of variation in elevation, much like Cadwell but a bit quicker overall

3, Mallory.......................... no Im joking smile

3, Toss up between Donington or the original Anglesey, although contenders Ive not driven would include the new Anglesey longer layouts, and Brands GP.

Most fun:

Thruxton: woohoo! Fast. Faster. Fastest.
Bedford Autodrome: even MORE fun if its wet.
Brands (Indy - still haven't managed the GP): Druids steering on the throttle the whole way round.

Most memorable:

Brands: A truly beautiful circuit. Paddock Hill bend is unforgettable.
Silverstone: Well its home of the GP, isn't it? Special.
Thruxton: Track Day opportunities very rare. Very special, very, very fast.

Incidentally I am certainly looking forward to driving the new Anglesey circuit at some stage. Should be awesome - and my old Mum lives on the Island too so very pleasant it will be I'm sure.

Anglesey GP, Donny GP and Cadwell Park in no particular order.

Oulton well up there too but narrowly missing out.

Brands GP is an awsome circuit but doesn't offer value for money IMO hence notably missing from my list.

Best circuit food by a long way is Castle Combe.

Croft definitely in my top 5 and often under-rated. If it had elevation it would up there in the top 3.

yes By a country mile. When on business in Bristol I'd actually make a detour there to get lunch. Everything is properly home-made and cooked by people who care. They make real food not rubbish that goes from freezer to fryer to fat bastard with no talent in between.

I make a point of complimenting the chief lady there whenever I'm on a trackday as I want to encourage 'em to keep it up. Its a enviable reputation they deserve and other circuits (hell - most facilities) could learn from them. Not posh. Just really, properly good.

I can beat a 6 stone 12 year old too and a 7 stone 23 year old but I am 20 odd stone! It really depends how big your balls are! I can run rings round my future in-laws but if I am up against other karters, I lose out on the straights to them.

Back on topic: 1. Donington GP circuit 2. Silverstone GP circuit 3. Snetterton, close 4th is Knockhill because its my home circuit and have been round it 1000s of times, the earliest being 4 years old sitting on my Dad's knee steering his Mallock around! Those were the days!

That'll be Jackie - she's got absolutely the right attitude to the business and deserves to do well. Her daughters got a cracking pair of t!ts, too - but that's probably a discussion for a completely different forum altogether.
