Le Mans track day 1.7.07-anyone on here going?
Discussion
Sorry, the CORRECT date is actually 19.7.07 and not the 1st as in the title heading!
This was to be the first proper track day that I was going to use my newly acquired Ultima on but alas, technical problems have since deemed my intentions impossible. Never mind I thought, I will hastily ready my faithful old 911 for the task. I have left it to late and the Porker needs a fair bit more than can be fixed in the remaining jiffy that is left before departure. As if things could not get any worse, my guest dipped out of the trip last week and I almost cancelled the whole excursion but then I thought, NO, I will not give up, I will not be overcome by any obstacles in my way. Now my dear old Dad is coming along to keep me company and I am busy preparing my Volvo 850 T5 tow car for the experience.
The track day is being offered by autotrack uk ltd., anyone here going?

It was a learning curve ( along with the straights and corners of course )
Note to self; You have track day at Le Mans booked and in the month preceding, all goes wrong and so at the eleventh hour, you opt to take your tow car just for the craic and use that to sup up the experience at least, don't EVER do that again.
Met some good folk and had a laugh, spent some money and came home

Perhaps I was blind but I can't rememmber seeing the T5 on track or off come to think of it!
Saw the Red M3 which sounded nice and the Starion was motoring don't think I was on track when you were flying.
Had a fab day found the circuit flowed quite well and flat out into the Dunlop curve was er scary a wrong move and it would send you into the tyres to the right.
Apologies for being unsociable I had a neighbour to entertain and struggled to catch up with all the Elises.
Well run trackday by Autotrack, albeit too many forms I filled in 3 or 4!

Hello all.
I had a fab day. Thank god for sunshine I say, doesn't it make a big difference although not so good for your cars it was good for me trackside.
Thanks to GTWayne for saying hello - forgot to offer you that chocolate cake! Not quite the weather for cake I feel.
Vtecmatt - apologies for not coming over. I have only just read the replies - bugger missed a passanger ride.
I got to go out in one of the red 911's which was very cool.
James - I want your car!! - fancy PX on an R34 Skyline????

What do you Lotus chaps do about spares etc when abroad on a track day. Do you take the puncture foam stuff in a can or do you have a back up car with all the bits in you may require. what happens if your tyres are worn out by having so much fun on the track. do you risk it driving home etc.
I would love toy go to the ring and spa etc but it just dawned on me about spares.
Thank you and hope to see you on track soon.
