Hello everyone,

I am an ex-racer and avid track day goer. I thought that there might be an opportunity to keep doing track days, but also to help a lot of people who (like me) can't afford to run a dedicated track car, is not supposed or allowed (like me) to use their own or company car on track but still want to do it....
Short of spending lots of money on a car, renting expensive Caterhams and Porsches or just not doing them, I thought that I would start a website/club to see if anyone wanted to share the cost and play in my little track-prepped Honda Civic.

Have a look here http://vaksdaltrackdays.bravehost.com/ and let me know what you think or if you (or someone you know) is interested.

Cheers!

Hate to be negative but you could maybe just about do this with a group of close friends but people you don't really know?

What ha happens if someone puts it in the wall or blows the engine....etc.....

Thanks for the feedback. I don't see it as negative, just realistic.

Certainly to start with, it is just going to be friends and colleagues, but (with any luck) I can get this thing going with a small selection of "cheap" track cars and think seriously about insurance/agreements/indemnities etc...

Of course, it might just stay amongst the "friends and colleagues" as a small-fry, close nit fun thing...

Time will tell, but I have already had some positive feedback.

Apart from advertising what sounds like a track club/track car rental business which is against the rules of this site, have you asked permission of Motorport Events and U-Drive cars to use their photos on your site?

Hi fastfreddy,

This is not advertising - just wanted opinions on an idea to provide cheap, enjoyable track days for friends, family and colleagues. Apologies if it seems too much like a punt.

I have asked Bookatrack (who have replied), Motorsports and U drive (no reply yet).

I am not trying to step on anyone's toes or to get on anyone's bad side - this is just an idea I had which I thought like minded track goers might like.......
