Can i take my track car on the ring?

Been thinking about taking our track elise to the ring but do we need mot/tax/ins etc to get on?? I've been on ring website but doesnt give me a definate answer. Are there special times when it operates as a track day would ie/ disclaimer and at your own risk?

On track days you're likely to be fine, on a 'tourist' day it's a road as per any EU highway hence you need a fully road legal taxed, MOT'd, insured etc car.

On a normal public lapping session, definitely not. They won't even let on cars with dealer plates.

Your car will either need to be road registered, or look as though it were.

In addition, they sometimes do a noise check. If your car will pass most UK trackday tests, you should be okay.

If you fake the registration and have an accident, you could have a big problem. Multiple-vehicle accidents have mandatory police attendance.

There are several track days there every year (RTS, RMA, Sport Auto, Manthey), so they could be alternative possibilities.

This was the same problem I was looking into as I bought a non-road going trackday car this year, but still wanted to do the ring.

I was considering the one in Nov, as they have a Spa trackday the day before too. Cost is 299 for the ring with 2 drivers.

Have you ever attended a track day there Flemke? I'm very interested in taking some of our race cars over, and perhaps visit Spa on the way.

It might help to be driving a Porsche to get on the track with Manthey.
