Lap Time Devices

Saw a guy with a lap time device that plugged into his lighter socket and recorded all sorts of data such as 0-60, lap times and G-Force (I think).
Anyone know what this is or can recommend one??

It was probably something like an Race Technology AP-22?

Remember that this kind of device is banned on track days and that if you're caught using one, you're likely to be booted off the day.

It could also be a Racelogic Perfomance box.Its got 3 suckers on it to attach to wind screenand plugand play also.I own one and its a great little gismo.it costs about £325,www.performancebox.co.uk

The ap22 wont do laptime without some extra sensors, but the racelogic performance box does I believe...

They aren't banned as such, you're just not allowed to time yourself directly. There's nothing to say that you can't log data (speed/acceleration/braking etc) on a trackday then analyse it afterwards to work out laptimes though smile

Driftbox or Performance box I asked (perhaps I should've just tried it until told not to) at the last trackday I did with MSE and they said no. They were okay with something like a VBox that doesn't have a display.
