How does it work? I've got a few days off next week and me and Mrs Beej would like to do the ring in the cerby.. how do I know if its open? Do I just turn up and buy an entrance ticket? Is it the same rules as a regular trackday - ie just wear a helmet and stay away from Radicals?

Any and all advice is much appreciated. Cheers

I'm afraid you've picked the worst possible week

The Ring will be completely closed from Mon 26th May through to Wed 11th June. This is because next weekend is the biggest event of the year - the Ring 24 Hrs race, some two hundred cars racing. The week leadng upto it is exclusively reserved for team practice etc. Then the circuit remains shut the following week whilst there's a massive clear up operation - event attracts well over 100,000 people camping all round the circuit, and there's a lot of mess left behind.

Then there's another huge event on weekend of 7/8 June - Rock Am Ring. A massive outdoor rock festival. Again attracts 100,000 people.

If you want to know about opening times, and general planning advice, here's the best place to look

Meant to say a good alternative is to come over this weekend instead when the track is open Sat & Sun 8am to 7.30pm. Quite a few PH'ers will be there.
