Hello,

Im just in the process of booking my first trackday but Im a bit stuck as I have no idea how loud my car is (other than very), I have a 4.0l Tuscan with some after market cans fitted by the previous owner which pop and fizzle all over the place. It's certainly not quiet!

Is there anywhere I can go to have it measured before I shell-out on the track day, I would be gutted to turn up and be told the car is too loud.

(to be honest I have no idea how loud 105db is anyway!)

or perhaps a "noise-o-meter" is something I can pickup online for a few quids?

thanks

dave

Take it to your local track when they have a track day on and ask nicely bow if they would please test it for you. IMO most tracks and TD organisers will do there best to help after all they want your business.

I imagine the standard cans are close to the mark!

I'm sure you can hire one from Bookatrack.

I went to Brands recently with a friend in his 4.2 Cerbera fitted a sports exhaust system - not quiet either. His car measured in at 104db's. Make sure you take the db reading from a point between the exhausts as I beleive this is the preferred point for 'measuring'
