Any twisty / slower / go-kart track for road cars
Discussion
As much to bump the topic...
My experience is that if a track is too twisty, it actually suits the Caterham-style car: light weight and high power:weight - very tight becomes point-&-squirty. If you're talking of something like a small hatchback (e.g. Fiesta), they are actually better on more open circuits with a bit of momentum.
If your concern is having to worry about other, 'faster' cars around you, you might want to consider semi-private testing at Llandow (South Wales) or Curborough sprint track (Lichfield). Both would be worth the trip.
At Curborough, you hire the track. Only one car is allowed on-track at a time.
Llandow carries more cars on-track, but is still fairly quiet, especially if you seek a quiet day with only a couple of other cars out there.
Both are very competitvely priced.
For an organised trackday, Brands Indy would be quite good. Lots of momentum corners, and two/three straights you can let people past easily without screwing up your lap. Silverstone National is nice and wide, but the straights would probably get a bit boring.

A Mr2, then
Curborough and Llandow are well worth a trip then (Curborough if you can get up to 5 mates along). Whilst very short compared to circuits, you'll like them. Probably the tightest you'll get access to. Both have web pafges, and are best tackled privately rather than with a trackday organiser.
Oulton Park and Cadwell should be on your list, although they are overnight stays. But so worth it for a car like that.
Mallory Park (Leicester, 90 mins up the M1 if you beat the traffic) might be interesting. It looks quite simple, and is quite fast, but the corners make you think and the straights are pretty short. Should suit a MR2.
I can see why Donington, Silverstone and Snetterton wouldn't appeal. The problem is that there are few circuits in the South (anywhere, really).
If you're feeling brave, you should consider any opportunity to run at Goodwood. Whilst outrageously fast, the corners are... interesting and would suit a good handling car. One benefit is that they restrict the number of faster cars out at any one time.

Does anyone know about any trackdays on some slower and more twisty track, perhaps a go-kart circuit, especially in the South? Just thought would suit less powered cars that like twisties
Anyone doing Croix-en-Ternois these days? That's pretty much like a big kart track (and, on a bike at least, damned good fun too!) and not too far from the Channel ports making it eminently reachable from the South.--
