Looking forward to this. Hope the weather is a bit better than the past few days. Anyone else going?

Make sure you tape up the front of your car - it's very bad for stone chips if you follow another car around it...

Last time I was there I got a chipped windscreen and broken indicator from stone chips caught following people through the chicane on the main runway. After that I took the hint and went round the side so I could avoid being directly behind other cars. Rest of the circuit seemed pretty cler though. Anyway, I'll be there on the 24th - looking forward to it. Hope the weather improves though!

not had my details through yet - should I be concerned?

I've had a call to get my credit card details, but nothing else. I'll be calling Marie ' TMS tomorrow to check...

Another thing - helmets, are they available for hire on the day?

Got my confirmation on Friday. Helmets are not available on the day. Have to bring your own.

Any hints on what to put on the front of your car to minimise stone chips? Have heard you can use cling film?????

Oh bugger, hope I've still got a place then!

I've seen people use a roll of gaffer tape on the front end - much stronger/thicker than cling film, easier to apply, stays put etc. I imagine that it should work for all but the most lethal stones...

I use greenhouse repair tape as a temporary bodywork protection. The headlights and spots are permanently covered in thick plastic sheet.

Hmmmm - I get a feeling of devja vue......

At the last one I booked myself and two mates up for the day, only to be told "no - absolutly only TVR"'s. Upon getting there what do I find? Lots of TVR's but quite a few others (Ultima's, Lotus's etc.)

What is it with TMS - why on earth can't they make their mind up?????

Got my info in the post today!

It says TMS TVRs on display - does this mean no test drives on the day??? I was under the impression we could have a quick go in the new models. Or was that just at the first event in March?

Itching to have even a short pootle in a T350...

Similar with the noise restrictions. I was told a limit of 98db (or something similar) - I advised my car’s 108db, then told sorry you’re too loud. Only to find that when I got there, several cars (including the racing Tuscan) were well over the 98db limit...

Either keep to a rule, or blatantly ignore it – not 1 rule for 1 and another for someone else…

At march's Track day we only let TVR's participate on the actual track, apart from a couple of Lotus's which were the organisers' cars.

The decibel limit for "Bruntingthorpe proving ground" is 98db but this was not checked on the day.

Just booked my mate in, in his S2000. Lets not show his car up too much, he was my best man after all.

Hello.

I know this is very cheeky but I am getting desparate! I am going with a mate to Bruntingthorpe this weekend and I am trying to get a helmet. They don't hire them on the day and I am reluctant to buy one just yet as this is my first Track Day and I am only a passenger.

I don't suppose anyone who is going to Bruntingthorpe this weekend has a spare 'small' size helmet they could lend me? I would be VERY gratefull (to the tune of beer/wine/food/chrome accessories!).

Many thanks,

Marc

err, how rigorously is this enforced? I thought Brunt. was a commercial airfield anyway.... I'm bringing my loud but virginal (well, virginal when it comes to track days) wedge this saturday - it's a nice metallic blue with a 'could be better' interior, so stop by and say Hi.
cheers
