Nurburgring this weekend

Peter - Accomodation was booked within 2 weeks of the public access schedule being posted. Dorint thursday night with a big beer session in village as the track doesn't open on the friday until the afternoon.
Friday and saturday night at a guesthouse 20 minutes away run by an english/american couple. Beer less of a priority as the toll road opens the following mornings at the crack of dawn. Last time there however, I was up drinking to 4am with mein host!
DeR - I will take photos but am IT inept. Camcorders have been banned from the track. I'll try and get Iguana when beered up to promise to do a trip report.
cheers

How I envy you! Was just told that my E30 Cabrio is a total loss after a love affair with the Armco at Hocheichen on the 4th May. Were any of you there at the time? There was a Elise and a Porsche with UK plates, but no PH stickers... I am buying a E30 320is (the Italian M3 Job with a 195Bhp S14B20 engine and a standard E30 Body ) this weekend, so I might make it there. If not Enjoy it!

Darren - I am also booked to be there!! I'm going with some Scooby people and some from work, but unfortunately they're leaving late on Friday night (ie. arriving about 3amm at Nurburg). Any chance I could get the same crossing and increase your mini PH convoy to 12?
Cheers,
Ben
PS. Intending to go Friday afternoon, back Monday
dazren said: Ben you're more than welcome to join the convoy however we are going out on eurotunnel at 10.29am on the thursday, returning on sunday at 21.36, again with eurotunnel.
cheers

Ah... shame! I can't get the time off work so that's tricky for me. Out of interest, why are you back on the Sunday at that time? Only it's a bank hol on Monday so we were going to get "rather drunk" afterwards.
Anyway - we must meet up! I have a "discreet" PH sticker on my car (a silver Civic Type R), but will may see if Ted has any of his HUUUUUUUUUGE ones around

Did you crash at that infamous unnamed road between Nurburg and Adenau?
So far so good Yes, I did indeed crashed at the unnamed road between Nurburg and Adenau. You should have heard them when I told them that they have to pay the EUR 1500 bill for 24 meters of Armco too
The only sticky point is the market value of the car and that they want to charge me 10% for letting me keep it. (It is a write off due to being un-economical to repair). Bo***x to that - will get some dodgy Polish staffed garage in Germany to do the work...

Two of our group have to work on monday. In addition I've got something on monday afternoon I need to deal with. I've already got the 2 feet PH sticker ready to go on the bonnet of the porker once it's been into the OPC on thursday for new front discs and pads.

Hi Cheburator,
Sorry to hear about the car
I was there when you crashed on 4th May, as in spectating at Hatzenbach around 5pm. I watched you go through the entry into Hocheichen, and your brake lights didn't come on - unusual? Did you overcook the entry speed? You were out of sight when you lost it - I did however wander down and take a look at the car - damage didn't look too bad, but I guess its relative low value would mean a repair is uneconomic for the insurer?
I've got a picture of your car - I'll send it through if I can find your e-mail address.
Cheers,
E
