Someone asked about F1 Experiences here some time ago. I replied with what I knew at the time but the other day I was asked to work on one. I took some video and pics and made a small (3min) compilation vid. The video just does not do justice to the sound and power of this thing and everyone got out with a huge smile and saying they'd never experienced anything like it.

I don't know too much about the cost side of it etc. but basically you get to drive a normal car under instruction, then a Formula Rockingham Car (similar to FF2000 spec) paced, then un-paced, then an F3 Car (early 90s, fully functional, no rev restrictions or traction control) then an F1 car. The Car is a proper F1 car from the mid 90's, all thats been added is Traction Control and the gearing has been setup for the particular track. There are no rev restriction but we did have to quiten it down somewhat from the initial run.

Before you ask, no, we don't get to drive it. It costs big time to run this thing. I'm not sure what car the Silver one we ran is but it has a Cosworth V8. The other car (in the video) is newly acquired and is an Arrows/Footwork Judd. The F3 cars shown are both Ralts, an RT30 and an RT32.

Hi, have a look at www.everymanracing.co.uk they do F1 experiences at mallory park. You drive a bmw alpina/subaru.then a porsche/ferrari under instruction.then you get to drive a formula ford. then a formula Vauxhall lotus and then the
awsome Tyrell F1 car with over 600 bhp cosworth DFV Engine. All of this is over 2 days with a stay in a very nice
country hotel with a champagne recption 4 course meals & circuit transfers for driver and one guest and all for aprox £1300 good value i would say, well worth a look.

From what I know, the F1 experience at Mallory would be ten times better than the other venue mentioned...

And you would know that how? I've worked for both companies and have no finacial involvement with either (i.e. I don't resell their product or rent their facilities) and I am not recommending one over the other (although I am in a position to), just that I happen to be able to get some video of one of them.

PS. Howard .... guilty
