Here's the goal.

Buy a trackday car - do the trackday - sell car without losing shirt

We're doing the Le Mans Bugatti trackday on 15th August with Circuit-days . Problem is, despite owning 4 cars, none a suitable for such a veritable event.

So I need to buy a trackday car just for the day. This needs to be road legal to drive down there, reliable enough to not break down and cheap enough so that I can re-sell it on eBay afterwards and not lose too much dosh, perhaps even make a few quid.

Max outlay £2k so not to worry about binning it and not to lose my shirt if I DO bin it...

What are your thoughts on this motley bunch of eBay condenders?

Nissan 300ZX with Noz! or This Twin Turbo one

Subaru Impreza

Peugeot 205 1.9Gti

Toyota Supra Twin Turbo

Cossie Merc

Formula 27 Kit Car

Any other things suggested/overlooked?

You could hire something for less than that and get a proper track prepped car with a bit of support & tuition if you wanted it.

I could, but then I'd have spent all that money with no asset to sell at the end! That's why I'm going to try to buy low, sell high with the aim of making the whole trip and trackday free

Now there's a splendid idea Jeremy. Can always reply on you for sound advice

There's another one in the classifieds for £1k that's apparently kicking out 220bhp! Have emailed the chap to see if I can see it at the weekend. Anyone got a good buying guide to hand for these cars? Really don't know them at all.

Only 3 things to really look out for on e30s

Rust

Rust

Rust

My e30 has all 3

For cheap rwd fun an e30 takes a lot of beating, as tail happy as something a lot more powerful, only really bad point is a zillon turns lock to lock on the stock steering rack.
