Anyone got any pics or vids from Yesterday?

A few people seemed to be struggling to use those shiny reflective things bolted to their doors, but a good day overall.

Ended up with warped discs by the end of the day, as well as being a PITA I think that new layout is very hard on brakes!

I was there as well yesterday, but unfortunately no pictures...liked the new layout! Which car you was driving?
I'll post a video as soon as I have it on the computer.

Cheers,
Max

otherwise a good day and loved the Vanquish that tried to be so cool by taping up his lights but managed to tape over ALL his brake lights...........

He must have taped over his rear view mirror as well I think..........

There were 2 Astons there, one was def not a vantage but had no tag on the back. their was a Vanquish on the list originally but ill be buggered if I can tell the difference between that and a DB9??

The Vantage had covered his lights. I think he must have got carried away when someone told him to tape up his lights to stop stone from shattering them and he did the whole of the lighting clusters inclduing the back.

Was a bit hairy when I was waiting for him to pull over and he stamped on the brakes a little early on the North Circuit.

There was a vantage that was quite slow and the new "baby" Aston which was quick and well driven

a baby Aston IS a V8 Vantage. The one with the lights taped was on of these and the other was def not.

I think it was a Vanquish only because I dont think it looked quite like a DB9. The only way i know they are different is the back light cluster is different and the number plate(like the DB9) is between the lights and not under the light line.

Anyway both were struggling in my opinion. Maybe they were saving their tyres.

Youre right, the other was a vanquish, I didnt think the vantage was doing too bad, unless there was more than one, anyway i am amazed they held together as they seem to fall apart every time they are tested in mags or on TV!

Hi - I was there in the Black Porsche Carerra 4 (GT3 bodykit..) and initially didn't like the new hairpins at all - especially in my very understeery car ... However, by the end of the day, and getting the entry lines and speed correct (finally) they are 'ok' and add an extra challenge to the track.

A great day though - great track manners and great weather.

I guess official photo's will be on phototrack's web site in the next few days (weeks?) but if anybody else has any then let us all know ..

Just like to also say thanks again to the guy with the Orange 997 GT3RS for the pax laps - awsome !

I was in the silver boxster, i saw your back brakes smoking pretty bad! seems unusual as the fronts normally take the punishment, must be alot more rear brake bias with rear engined cars I suppose, good effort though!

Hi
Agree that the circuit was a bit boring but fun all the same.
Took a few pictures but no where to post them.
Could email them to someone if they would like to post them.

Was in the blue Boxster S

Was in the white 993tt.

My first track day as I'm sure my slow pace betrayed!

Loved it though, some great machines and experience drivers there - very well run.

That gaggle of hatchback's were fooking fast weren't they!?

His rear brakes were probably smoking due to rubber marbles picked up from the circuit dropping on to and melting on the hot callipers, as apposed to being over worked?

Although you may find bedford a bit boring, judging by the slow speeds you were circulating in and your spins I presume you are a trackday novice and this circuit with its large run offs is the perfect place to learn the limits of your car..

Oh and by the way following your comment in the pits stating that "no 911's will go past you all day" - the only way to ensure this, is to sell your boxster get a 911 throw in a few years of tuition and even then there is no guarantee... Good Luck!

you certainly went past me at a rate along with that italian guy in the 997GT3 and i have now learned another lesson (added to the list) following you in the afternoon on race lines and too much speed into the corners.

By the way that last lap we did was my fastest of the day according to the Camcorder.

Hi Shim,

Glad to be of assistance! Apparently someone told me that those cups you are on get even better once they've had a heat cycle through them? So you should be even quicker next time! - have your disks sorted themselves out?

That Italian 997 was a nightmare, he was adamant not to let me through and eventually spun off trying to hard! which is unsurprising as his lines were awful and testament to the quality of the 997 chassis that he didn’t spin off along time before.

Have you posted any video clips from sat anywhere?

Hmmm - ok thanks for the info ! I've removed the stone shield on them to aid cooling so maybe it was the rubber hitting them and melting ... could also be that they were relatively new discs and pads and were 'wearing in' lol ...

Yes its quite an education in performance when a GT3 blasts past (I only have 204bhp) what where the GT3's hitting at the end of the long straight btw?
