LE MANS RACK DAY

The Le Mans Bugatti Circuit has been booked for the 11th August 2007. As part of the rental we will have full operational support of the Track Owner and operator - Automobile Club De L’Ouest (ACO). This includes medical car, control tower, extraction vehicles, ambulance, marshals, corporate boxes, Grandstand access, etc. It will be an open pit lane for the whole day (9.00 a.m. until 6.00 p.m.) with a 90-minute (12.30 p.m. until 2.00 p.m.) break for lunch.

Since this is not a UK track where many people will already be familiar with the circuit, introductory laps will be done to show all participants the layout. If there is enough demand we can organize some formal instruction throughout the whole day.

Stratstone Ferrari dealership in Birmingham are supporting the event providing, mechanics and parts to assist with the running of all participants’ cars.

Please note, all participating cars will be checked prior to the pit lane opening for adequate brakes and tyre wear. All cars must have a toe hook and a fire extinguisher. Whilst we want a good fun day safety will be paramount. All drivers will be required to sign a form of indemnity for the day.

We will providing breakfast and lunch and as part of the package, Saturday night’s dinner will also be included at the L’Auberge Des Hunadieres. Many of you will remember this fine institution and its fantastic location right on the Mulsanne straight.

Separately, reduced rates have been agreed with the local Mercure hotel (Euro 63 per night for a twin room). Whilst I have has negotiated these special rates, the booking of this part of the trip is your own responsibility. In due course, i will have booking codes to use when making your own bookings.

Although myself and others will be going down on Friday am, we would advise that due to the numbers involved, we do not all take the same train as we will stick out like a sore thumb to the French police.

Plan therefore would be:

- Go to Le mans on the Friday.
- Hotel Mercure overnight (Mercure Le Mans Batignolles)
- Have breakfast, lunch and damn good time on track for Saturday 11/08/07
- Dinner on Mulsanne straight.
- Back to pub in town. Currently organizing extension to normal opening hours.
- Head back Sunday

In terms of bookings, deposits and the track operator limits, we are charging per car instead of per driver. The cost will be £400 plus travel and hotel for a2-seater car. If you have an old fashioned car which still has 4 seats then extra passengers can be included at £100 per head. Based on the above, itinerary this equates to a cost per individual of £285 (two persons per car) for the whole weekend. You will have to cover your own petrol, insurance, refreshments (on Friday and Sunday) and any kebabs you suddenly get the desire for after Saturday night’s frivolities.

Based on interest shown already we would expect to see a field of cars predominantly made up of Ferrari’s with some Porsche’s, Aston Martin’s and Maserati’s. Should you wish to bring other friends and their cars, for the sake of safety we are limiting it to high performance vehicles so please check first.

To confirm interest please contact me via email Stewart Paton (smpaton@aol.com). We will need a minimum deposit of £100 per head (payable to Stewart Paton) to guarantee your place on the trip. The residuals will need to be paid 60 days prior to the event.

This event is already very well supported by Club Scuderia.

When confirming interest, please detail, how many cars and how many passengers in each of the cars you wish to bring.

Ask your local butcher, they could probably help.
