Hello chaps,

I have £300 to spend on a "driving experience" - can any of you suggest one?

Me and a mate were thinking of going to one of the BookaTrack days and hiring the Caterham but all of the open pit lane days are out of our budget and I don't really fancy doing 15 minute sessions - I want to be driving as much as I can.

Any suggestions welcome!

Cheers

What about one of the evening sessions? It's not a whole day obviously but I have done an evening in one of their Caterhams and it was plenty of track time. Although if you are sharing with a mate you will get less time at the wheel, as you have to let the car cool down in between runs.

Darrone,
when do you want the driving experience? We are about to announce another series of dates for our track-day taster events which have proved popular in the past (in fact we had another 8 people on our event at Bedford on bank holiday Monday).

More information about what a track-day taster day is can be found at

www.track-club.com/cgi-bin/forum/Blah.pl?m-1170437277

And an article that talks about the different kinds of experiences available can be found at

www.track-club.com/cgi-bin/forum/Blah.pl?m-1173959593

If you want to see the kind of cars we typically bring along to our events checkout

www.track-club.com/fleetIndex.asp

For last Monday's event we brought the Clio, Roadsport, Elise, Exige S2 and the Palmer JP1...

Thanks GnuBee for replying.

The novice day sounds ideal to be honest. One question though, you say and I quote (!) "Firstly you'll not be sharing with other people (unless you want to that is, the price includes 2 drivers), you'll have a single car to yourself and the day will be at a recognised track (Snetterton, Oulton Park, Brands Hatch for example)."

Does this mean that me and a mate could turn up, pay £300 each and share the driving for the day of say the Caterham 7 you have?

If it does, you could well be hearing from soon to book a date!

Cheers

Mallory park driver training. The session lasts 2 hours and I spent probably 1 1/2 hours of it killing their Leon Cupra R. Not only do you get to drive quickly but you get taught stuff at the same time. I would recommend it 100%

for that price you can get an all day 1-2-1 session with a pro. But you'd have to supply the car and pay for the track day.

Darrone,
I missed your question in this thread. Basically for the novice days the answer is yes i.e. the cost covers 2 drivers so the 2 of you could in effect do the day for £300 each.

The other option would be the track day taster day which would come in under your budget and you would get quality time in our cars.
