I'm doing my first track day on April the 14th.

It's at Bedford with easytrack (afternoon session). I won't be going mad but I do want to learn how to handle the car at the limit as all I do on the road is enjoy it's considerable grip.

So I'd like to have some professional tuition at the track if that's available and wondered what's the best way to organise it?

e.g. do I book it with easytrack, bedford direct or maybe just arrange something on the day when I'm there?

Cheers
Kenny

Kenny
I've done loads of Track Days in the past but recently I went for instruction at North Weald with Andy Walsh www.carlimits.com .
It wasn't until then that I realised how little idea I had of how to handle my car at ITS limits.
I was spinning it at 70 mph whilst Andy could take the same corner at 85 without too much fuss.

I'm going the same day with Easy track but for teh full day session on the GT track. I paid an extra £30 to Easytrack on booking to get instruction. Not sure how much I get for that though, but hoping to find out a bit more about the whole track day scene once I'm there.

i have been with MSV at Bedford before and the JP guys are there and they always have gaps to book into especially in the afternoon.

I would guess that the instrutors there for EASYTRACK will also allow bookings on the day but also as noted above you can prebook half hour sessions about £25-30.

Camel and Kennyboy

See you both there. I am there for the all day session.

See you both there, hope it's dry!!

MSV is Motorsport Vision which is Johnathan Palmer's (JP) outfit, if you look at the MSV website you can find out more info on all his tracks.

Something I found really useful is the game TOCA race driver 3, as that has all the tracks at Bedford on it (although the North circuit is being extended & should be open in a week or 2). This allows you to get familiar with the tracks before you get there (at least you'll know what corner to expect next)

interesting idea Craig - I have a ps2 with gt4, don't suppose it's on there (hidden) is it?

Good idea. I am currently just looking at vids on You Tube and PHTV. All helps.
