I have just been forced (MOT) to fit new Potenzas on a little used road car just a couple of weeks before a booked track day.
Any tips please on how to best treat them now and maybe for the first couple of
sessions, in order not to ruin them prematurely?

Surely you can wear them in before the track day if it's a road car? I know you say it's little used, but can't you take it out for half an hour in the evenings to do some miles.

Dont understand what the problem is . A few road miles eg driving to the track will get rid of any release agent from the manufacturing process . Then the track familiarisation laps at easy pace will warm them up / complete the clean-up . Keep an eye on temps ( hands on tread ) and pressures ( will rise with temp )
